Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Paediatric Rheumatologist to join the Paediatric department.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

Northern Health is excited to invite applications for the position of Paediatric Rheumatologist. This role will contribute to the development of paediatric rheumatology services across Northern Health and provide specialist care for children and adolescents with rheumatologic conditions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the planning and implementation of diversifying and expanding the scope of paediatric rheumatology services at Northern Health
  • Running paediatric rheumatology clinics at Northern Hospital Epping
  • Helping develop clinical pathways and service links with the Royal Children's Hospital Paediatric Rheumatology Service to enable shared care and transition of patients
  • Supervising adult rheumatology trainees attending paediatric clinics to enhance training and continuity of care
  • Supporting academic, research, education, training and supervision activities within the Paediatric Unit

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree is essential – MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
  • A fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent)
  • Sub-specialist training in paediatric rheumatology
