Business Analyst

• Initial 6+ month contract with possible extension paying up to $828/day
• Fortitude Valley Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week
• BA required with cloud platforms and data analytics project experience

Our client, a large complex organisation within the Utilities sector, are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to start asap on their Azure Consumption Project.

Working closely with the Project Manager, the successful applicant will support the successful delivery of the Azure Consumption project - a key initiative focused on managing the transition to Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM), including the consolidation and transition of Power BI and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to Azure Fabric. While a BA skill set is required, some experience in change management would also be favourable as there is a small change component associated within this project.

Responsibilities

• Capture and manage end-to-end business and functional requirements to support the transition to MSM and Azure Fabric.
• Develop user stories and test scenarios for UAT and Go-Live, ensuring traceability to business outcomes.
• Review supplier documentation and finalise business rules for BAU handover.
• Analyse current workflows and recommend improvements across people, process, data, and systems.
• Ensure quality and consistency of business analysis deliverables through peer review and alignment to standards.
• Support change activities including stakeholder engagement, training materials, and FAQs.
• Assist in SIT and UAT to validate business requirements and ensure readiness for deployment.

Experience/Skills

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in digital or IT projects, ideally involving cloud platforms and data analytics.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Power BI, EDW, and MSM highly regarded.
• Experience supporting digital change initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and user story creation.
• Comfortable reviewing technical documentation and supporting BAU transition.
• Experience with UAT, SIT, and release coordination.
• Proficient in business analysis tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).
