About us

Based in the Swan Valley Perth, Western Australia, we are a Centre that has been established for over 20yrs. Our primary focus is on mobile education where we travel to location in WA with our animals for educational displays. WA Birds of Prey Centre/ Critters Up Close is looking for 2 x full-time people as Senior Zookeepers/Wildlife presenters to assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of the Centre and conduct educational displays both at the Centre and one the road.

Qualifications & experience

Must

  • ability to work in fast pace and evolving environment
  • have worked in the zoo industry in a similar role for minimum 2 years.
  • have extensive knowledge in husbandry on a wide selection of animals
  • experience in animal behavior
  • experience in animal training and or handling
  • reptile experience and ideally aquatics and Birds of Prey.
  • design enclosures and enrichment
  • knowledge on licensing, DBCA requirements and ZAA
  • able to lead a team of people and report to management
  • willing to learn on the job, share knowledge and help others
  • time management skills
  • WWC
  • knowledge in OHS
  • fit and healthy
  • positive attitude and caring nature
  • be available to work weekends, public holidays and outside normal working hours
  • current driver's license

Start date - Immediate

Job type - Full time

Salary - Based on Experience

Work eligibility - Permitted to work permanently with no restrictions on hours
