The Team

Tyndall AM is one of Australia's largest and most experienced investment teams. For more than 30 years, the Tyndall name in Australia has been synonymous with value investing. This role is based in Sydney and reports to the Head of Australian Equities, Tyndall AM forming part of an ambitious and entrepreneurial 11-person Australian equities team.

About the Role

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining financial models. You will be required to present and articulate view points and justifications in peer forums and provided support to senior members of the team in evaluating specific investment opportunities, conducting broader sector research. You will work closely with the Head of Australian Equities, senior analysts and portfolio managers within the Tyndall AM team.

The successful applicant will have experience covering Australian equites, whether in funds management, consulting firm, stockbroking organisation, banking, or as part of an in-house corporate development team. You will have a strong intellect, high integrity, high quality standards, attention to detail and bring strong financial acumen. You will be confident and curious by nature, have a passion for equity markets, and your positive approach will enable you to build relationships with colleagues, company management, and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities

· Conducting fundamental analysis of companies to provide investment recommendations

· Develop and maintain financial models to forecast company earnings and valuations

· Participation in peer-review process of internally generated investment research

· Liaising with companies, stockbrokers, portfolio managers and external clients

· Presenting investment ideas to internal and external clients and other stakeholders

· Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills

· Excellent report writing skills

· Ability to succinctly and confidently present investment ideas

· Interest and capability in broadening sectoral coverage

· Strong ethical approach to financial market dealings

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

· Experience in asset management or broking would be an advantage

· Degree qualified (e.g. finance, economics, accounting or relevant areas - CFA desirable)

· Must be self-reliant, resourceful and proactive at the same time a collaborative team player

· Strong intellect, high integrity, strong ethical approach, high quality standards and attention to detail

· Willingness to learn from and play a supporting role for senior analysts and portfolio managers

· Superior communication skills both oral and written

· Independence of thought and curiosity about financial markets

· Ability to prioritise competing demands

· Financial modelling and reporting skills

· Experience using Visible Alpha desirable
