Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 6 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.

Columba Kindergarten and Care, Charters Towers offer long day-care for children aged 3-5 through a Queensland Government-approved Kindergarten program. Additionally, we provide before and after school care, as well as vacation care for children attending our school and for the broader community.

About the position

Columba Kindergarten and Care is excited to invite a passionate Casual Educator—either Diploma-qualified or working towards their qualification—to join our dynamic team. This casual position offers flexible shifts between 7:00am and 5:30pm, with hours varying based on service needs.

As a vital member of our team, you'll be a valued Educator dedicated to fostering an inclusive, engaging environment where every child can thrive. Our service is led by an experienced, qualified leader who inspires and supports our welcoming teams.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Diploma (completed, or working towards) in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA equivalent
  • Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement
  • Ability to learn new systems and child care management software
  • The ability to work effectively in a close-knit team environment
