Position Overview
As an Electrical Subdivision / URD Designer, you will play a key role in designing of major and minor Subdivision/URD developments from concept through detailed design, working closely with stakeholders deliver quality, safe, and compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop overhead and underground EQL Electrical Reticulation Designs, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Develop detailed public lighting designs (Rate 2 & 3) for subdivision projects.
- Undertake electrical calculations such as voltage drop.
- Liaise with client's, EQL, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Interpret and apply National, State and Local standards and documentation.
- Support and participate in design coordination and clash‑detection.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to project QA and delivery excellence
Required Skills & Experience
- Two years' current design experience involving either the Ergon or Energex networks.
- Proven background working on subdivision/URD projects, ideally in Qld.
- Comprehensive knowledge of overhead and underground LV to 66kV network standards
- Engineering survey experience for line profiling and route selection
- Experience with relevant engineering design software egg CATAN, Poles N Wires, AutoCAD, Perfect Lite Excellent communication, teamwork and client‑facing skills
- RPEQ or working towards registration is a bonus
