Senior Subcontracts Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join our newly created Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. As this is a new team we are looking for someone proactive and motivated that can support R&S Supply Chain strategy, assist with making the procurement operations agile and support the Head of Department implementation of processes and policies.

Your tasks

• Part of the newly created the Supply Chain team, this role is supporting the various business units with their Supply Chain requirements. Key responsibilities will include
• Develop procurement strategies and priorities and lead their delivery through strong stakeholder relationships and understanding of the program(s) requirements;
• Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers according to R&S Australia process and AIC Strategy;
• Conduct approach to market activities (RFx), analyse and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate supplier deviations to subcontracts provisions and recommend final supplier selection;
• Maintain a relationship with suppliers and drive collaboration to ensure on time performance and compliance;
• Conduct risk assessment, prepare mitigation plan and progress reporting;
• Prepare, negotiate, execute and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including NDAs, development, manufacturing and support services contracts and contract variations;
• Monitor and report subcontractors cost, schedule and status and recommend or implement corrective action as necessary;
• Provide advice to a range of internal stakeholders on all Supply Chain activities;
• Provide support to the Head of Supply Chain for the optimisation or implementation of Supply Chain processes.

Your Qualifications

• Tertiary Education in Business, Law or relevant experience (highly desirable).
• Commercial acumen and understanding of contract law
• Strong organisational skills and attention to details
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Wiliness to learn and adapt to R&S processes
• Extensive experience in Subcontract management or Contract management role
• Experience within the Defence Industry highly desirable
• SAP Experience desirable
• High level competency in written and oral communication and standard MS office tools and systems
