Role And Responsibilities
This position of Guitar Tutor is offered as an ongoing part time position, currently at minimum 1 full day per week (Wednesday preferred) with the potential to increase. As part of the School's established co-curricular Music Program the role involves teaching individual guitar lessons, preparing students for AMEB or VCE examinations, Soirees and leading guitar and contemporary ensembles as required.
The position is available from Term and applicants must:
- Demonstrate success in taking individual and group lessons for students of Guitar (experience across all year levels from Junior School to VCE preferred).
- Demonstrate knowledge of Guitar pedagogy, including acoustic, electric and bass guitar, ensemble direction and interest in the use of technology in instrumental teaching.
- Possess an inherent understanding and passion for teaching children in a school setting.
- Possess a strong commitment to excellence in education and a proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research based teaching practice.
- Be committed to the consistent delivery of lessons and rehearsals.
- Be willing to adopt change, collaborate and strive for professional excellence.
- Possess a growth mindset.
