About the Practice
You won't find any other practice like this in Adelaide. The first of its kind, this exclusive Veterinary Clinic manages patients that require Dentistry care and Oromaxillofacial Surgery. With state of the art equipment and a highly dedicated Veterinary team, this facility is committed to supporting optimal patient wellbeing. This is predominantly a referral practice.
About the Position
As a newly established practice, our client is seeking the ideal Veterinary Nurse to support their team. The candidate should have experience in Anesthesia Management and Surgery (though these are preferred, not mandatory). The role involves assisting Vets in consulting rooms and the theatre.
Position Responsibilities
On a typical shift, Dentistry and Surgical Nurses could be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Greet clients and check in/out patients.
- Assist with client enquiries ensuring advice and medical information is delivered in a thorough and clear manner.
- Manage and update patient records and documents.
- Support Vets in consultation rooms and in theatre including any emergencies.
- Care for patients at all stages of their visit to the practice, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.
- Prepare, calculate and administer medication as directed by vets.
- Perform laboratory tests including blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic practice including all consulting and hospital areas.
What You Will Bring to the Team
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent and a LOVE for animals (of highest importance).
- TWO years' experience as a Veterinary Nurse.
- Knowledge of Surgical and Anesthesia Management processes (desirable but not essential).
- A drive to develop personal skill sets to support organisational growth.
- Compassion, empathy and an ability to comfort and care for sick animals.
- An understanding of Veterinary Medical terminology, Anatomy and Dentistry conditions (desirable but not essential).
- A focused, can-do attitude towards high pressure situations.
- Ability to change individual behaviour and adapt to current circumstances.
- A team player approach to support tasks on hand.
