Operations Field Delivery Southern have a permanent opportunity for an Electrical Fitter Mechanic with Cable Jointing electrical licence in the Underground crew located at Toowoomba.

If you're a soon to be graduated Cable Jointer apprentice, and you haven't already accepted a permanent position, we encourage you to apply.

Your opportunity

As a key member of the team, you'll be assisting with the installation, maintenance and repair of our LV & HV underground infrastructure, including cables (polymeric and paper lead), pad-mount transformers and ring main units.

The position has been evaluated as Technical Service Person Grade Three (TSP3).

The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement

What you'll bring

  • A Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic and/or Electrical Jointer (restricted to polymeric or full paper lead endorsement)
  • Up to Level 3 HV Switching authority

We'd also love you to have

  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
  • Availability for call out and emergency work.
  • Willingness to travel to surrounding area from time to time to undertake work.
