Job Title: Allied Health Assistant (Grade 3) – Audiology Department

About the Role

This is a Permanent Part Time position at 0.53 FTE (40 hours per fortnight) within the Audiology Department.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting Audiologist's to provide optimal care to children presenting for hearing assessments. You will undertake a range of clinical and non-clinical duties (both administrative and equipment related). A large proportion of this work involves assisting in preparation for clinics and appointments. You may also provide clinical care to infants, children and adolescents in outpatient settings under the guidance of an Audiologist.

Classification for this position is IN30 (FTE base salary $65,754 per annum, plus superannuation).

What you'll achieve:

  • Assist Audiologists to provide high-quality clinical services to outpatients at RCH via a range of non-clinical and clinical duties.
  • Work within the scope of an allied health assistant
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice and a commitment to learning
  • Work effectively and flexibly within teams demonstrating strong communication, organisation, and collaboration skills
  • Act in a professional and ethical manner

Your skills and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
  • Experience in working directly with infants and children
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting
  • Proficient computer skills

About the Audiology Department

The department provide a comprehensive range of behavioural and objective assessments to a diverse range of patient groups and in a variety of settings. Our team of experienced and dedicated audiologists are committed to providing excellent evidence-based practice and are involved in quality activities to improve outcomes for infants and children.
