The waste water treatment plant includes the latest design and technology for treatment of abattoir waste water including;

  • advanced primary treatment by high rate dissolved air flotation
  • covered anaerobic lagoons with biogas harvesting
  • biological nutrient removal.

The position includes the following duties:

  • Daily monitoring, testing & recording of waste water at various points throughout the process
  • Operation of Dissolved air flotation (DAF) equipment
  • Preparation of treatment chemicals for Removal of bio-solids
  • Operation of equipment for removal of bio-solids
  • Troubleshooting of the Waste Water Treatment Process
  • Monitor pumps, aerators and valves
  • Monitoring & controlling odour emissions
  • Preventative & scheduled maintenance tasks associated with the waste water plant.
  • Full training will be provided in the role.

Preference will be given to those with previous waste water treatment experience, biological nutrient removal experience OR those with science-based work experience or qualifications.
