We are looking for an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic with strong hydraulic fitting skills to join our team.
This position will be responsible for:
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and related components.
- Dismantle and reassemble engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, pumps, and hydraulic equipment as required.
- Repair and replace worn or defective mechanical and hydraulic parts, referring to service manuals and technical drawings.
- Assemble, install, test, and commission hydraulic systems and associated components, with elements of pneumatics and basic auto-electrical work.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Test and adjust mechanical and hydraulic systems for correct performance.
- Diagnose and test mechanical and electrical parts with the assistance of computerised equipment.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe working environment in line with OH&S procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and project teams to meet deadlines.
Successful applicants must have:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic, ideally within heavy vehicles, trucks, or industrial equipment.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, with knowledge of pneumatics and auto-electrical work highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, self-management, and a team-first approach.
