The full-time Primary School Teacher position is located in the rural township of Balaclava SA 5461.

Position

We are seeking a FULL-TIME Primary School Teacher.

Reporting to the head of School - Primary the full-time Primary School Teacher will be responsible for teaching subjects within a prescribed curriculum to primary school students, and promoting students' social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.

Main Tasks:

• Delivers differentiated learning programs in science to primary school students
• Planning and instructing lessons on science topics, in line with the Australian Curriculum
• Enforcing classroom management and school administrative policies maintain a safe, supportive and positive learning environment
• Guides discussions and supervises students' work in class
• Assessing and accommodating students' learning needs and styles
• Maintains records of students' progress
• Using technology to deliver lessons and other educational materials
• Communicating effectively with students, parents and staff and prepares written reports on a regular basis about students' progress
• Grading students' assignments, tests and exams and making associated rubrics
• May performs extra-curricular tasks, such as excursions and special interest programs
• Participates in staff meetings, educational conferences and workshops

Key requirements

· At least a Bachelor of Education or higher qualification (or equivalent - recognized in South Australia).

· Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.

• At least five years of successful primary school teaching experience.
• Expected to be a Christian, active in the life of his or her church and willing to join enthusiastic staff teams at Horizon.

· Good work ethic and be a team player but must also be able to work independently.

· Must have a very calm and mature nature, grounded personality.

Remuneration

Wakefield Regional Christian School Association Incorporated trading as Horizon Christian School is pleased to offer a generous base salary between $114,000 and $121,000 plus superannuation depending on work experience and qualifications.

The specific package will be offered depending upon the meeting of the above selection criteria and including past experience. Salary package, leave and other entitlements are paid as per the Horizon Christian School Memorandum of Understanding and the National Employment Standard (NES).
