Singh Sweetz and Fast Food, a popular restaurant specializing in authentic Indian and Indo Chinese

cuisine, is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team. Our menu features

a variety of Indian curries, breads, Indo Chinese dishes and other traditional dishes.

Position: Chef

Location: 1/127 Henley Beach Rd, Mile End SA 5031

Annual Salary: $74,000 - $85,000 [commensurate with experience]

Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional Indian and Indo Chinese dishes, including

curries, breads etc.

  • Oversee the quality of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and presentation.

  • Manage kitchen operations, including managing inventory, ordering ingredients, and

maintaining food safety standards.

  • Contribute to menu development by introducing new and seasonal dishes.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment.

  • Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage without compromising on quality.

  • Plan and develop menus considering seasonal availability and customer preferences.

  • Estimate food and labour costs to support budgeting and cost control.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.

To be successful in this role, you require the following:

  • Relevant culinary qualifications such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment.

  • Strong understanding of cooking techniques and traditional preparation methods.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.

  • An attention to consistent delivery of quality and well-presented food

  • Fast learning ability and adaptability to change

  • Reliability and punctuality

  • A genuine passion to provide excellent service
