The Multicultural Community Centre (MCC) was established to address the needs of Brisbane's culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) population. As a charitable organisation and registered public benevolent institution, MCC is dedicated to supporting migrants, refugees, disadvantaged individuals, people experiencing poverty, and the elderly.
MCC plays an active role in combating racism and serves as an advocate and liaison between government and non-government organisations. The Centre is deeply committed to promoting multiculturalism and preserving cultural heritage, including traditions, languages, and customs.

About the Role
The Multicultural Community Centre (MCC) takes pride in its skilled and passionate team, dedicated to empowering Brisbane's culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Coordinator to lead a dynamic team of trainees for a fixed-term project.
In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to guide and mentor your team through all stages of project delivery — from planning and development to implementation and evaluation. The project will culminate in the organisation of two vibrant community festival/events, celebrating diversity and connection across the wider community MCC serves.
Desired Skills
- Juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Liaise with management and clients to identify and define project requirements, scopes, and objectives that align with organisational goals.
- Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets.
- Analyse project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to achieve maximum benefit.
- Achieve organizational goals while upholding standards and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing environment and handle multiple priorities.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Assist the number of trainees within the allocated timeframe as outlined
- Assist trainees through the outlined program with the intent of securing employment, further accredited training or small business coaching
- Be responsible to ensure the compliance of administrative and criteria agreed upon
- Offer assistance and insight to trainees, directing them towards appropriate next steps to enhance their skills and progress.
- Network and build strong connections with people among the community and organisations to ensure we provide the best assistance to our clients
- Developing new strategies and partnerships to benefit the clients and promote the values of the organisation
- Demonstrate the ability to manage external and internal stakeholder communication
- Create marketing strategies to reach the cohort of trainees for the project
- Ensure all parts of an assigned project are processed, organized, and progressing according to predetermined timelines and deliverable dates.
- Assist in assigning project tasks to relevant parties and check in for status updates.
- Develop and maintain project performance databases that track overall progress and the accomplishment of specific key performing indicators
- Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans.
- Act as a point of communication between organisational teams and external resources.
- Develop monthly progress report, prepare final and acquittal report according to the progress of the projects.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or equivalent qualification in business, project management or event planning or related field preferred
- Hands-on and proven experience with managing teams.
- Proven success in a fast-paced work culture and working with all levels of management.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Job Type: Full-time fixed Term
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- With potential to volunteer weekends to assist organisation events
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Newmarket, QLD 4051: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Work Authorisation:
- Valid visa to work in Australia (Required)
