Senior Risk Engineer – Property

The opportunity:

HDI Global is seeking a talented Senior Risk Engineer for our market leading Risk Engineering practice – HDI Risk Consulting (HRC). This role will primarily focus on the Property Sector.

HRC has a track record servicing wide-ranging and diverse market sectors. You can expect to provide risk consulting services to landmark, high profile clients from a range of industries, including plastic manufacturing, food and beverage, warehousing and logistics, motor fleet, and general infrastructure and property. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of proven risk engineering experience within the insurance industry, and while not a requirement motor fleet experience would be an advantage.

The role requires approximately 20% travel per year predominantly within Australia and New Zealand."

You should have strong experience in the following areas:

• Loss prevention engineering/consultancy services.
• Conduct Property Risk Engineering field surveys.
• Implementation of efficient loss prevention measures with the development of effective operational risk management procedures at client level.
• Anticipate potential loss developments.
• Complete risk grading assessments and loss estimate calculations in accordance with HDI Global Risk Engineering guidelines.
• Assessing adequacy & operational functionality of protection systems.
• Evaluating client's in-house loss prevention program.
• Consulting with client's senior management to reduce fire risks.
• Risk report tabulation for the underwriters prior to insurance renewal.
• Desktop review of insurance submissions and risk reports for underwriting purposes.
• Conducting loss prevention seminars to create awareness for client.

The position can be based in either our Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney offices, however we encourage applications from risk engineers across Australia.

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of risk engineering / loss control experience.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in technical report writing and delivering technical presentations, with the ability to communicate and engage with non-technical audiences.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency required.
