About the role

Moore College is looking for a Female Chaplain to join our team. Female Chaplains play a key role in discipling students of the College. They co-lead a chaplaincy group for male and female students in the undergraduate program, alongside a male chaplain, particularly focussing on the one-to-one pastoral care of female students. They're also involved in providing preaching feedback, Intentional Ministry Reflection (IMR) groups and College mission.

The successful candidate will be available to attend College on Thursdays between 9:00am and 3:00pm during academic terms and during the full week of College mission (one week in first semester).

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following essential selection criteria:

  • Active Christian faith and current ministry involvement in an evangelical (usually Anglican) church
  • Strong evangelical and reformed theological convictions consistent with the College's published values
  • Tertiary qualification in Theology or Pastoral Ministry, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in pastoral ministry, including strong interpersonal and pastoral skills
  • Ministry leadership experience in a complementarian context
  • Experience in evangelism and discipleship
  • Experience in training others in ministry, including helping others to reflect theologically on ministry practice
  • Licensed or authorised (or able to be licensed or authorised) by the Archbishop of Sydney to minister in the Diocese of Sydney

It is desirable that you also have:

  • Experience in cross-cultural ministry or mission
  • Experience in working in adult education
  • Sound computer skills
  • Tertiary qualification and proven experience in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling
