About Claremont Yacht Club
Claremont Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Western Australia with a proud history that dates back to We care about the marine industry, our members and staff, and the general Claremont Community of which we are an integral part.
The Claremont Yacht Club was formed by members and is run by a team of paid staff and volunteers that work together to provide facilities for members and the general community.
We have a 230+ marina housing sailing and power craft as well as two function areas, a strong dinghy sailing fleet with a view and amenities that are hard to match on the river.
The club is also about to undergo an exciting redevelopment in the next two years with a proposed 3 million dollar upgrade to the club house and facilities recently approved by the Claremont Council.

The Role
The role of a Bosun can be physically demanding, requiring individuals to be in good physical shape. Whether they are climbing, handling heavy ropes, or conducting maintenance tasks on the marina, physical endurance and strength are essential. A Bosun must maintain overall fitness to perform their duties effectively. Regular exercise, cardiovascular conditioning, and strength training contribute to their ability to handle the rigors of work around the marina. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight and flexibility ensures agility and reduces the risk of injury during physically demanding tasks.
Beyond physical fitness, a Bosun must possess keen attention to detail. Their responsibilities include inspecting the marina, member vessels, machinery, and safety systems. Identifying potential issues early is crucial for maintaining the marina integrity and ensuring the safety of the crew. Whether it's spotting frayed ropes, detecting rust on metal surfaces, or assessing the condition of life-saving equipment, a vigilant Bosun plays a critical role in preventing accidents and maintaining the marina. Their meticulous eye will ensure that no detail goes unnoticed, contributing to the overall safety and success of marina.

To be considered for a role you will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Experience in the construction or building maintenance industry
- Experience in boating, marina maintenance and aquatic activities
- Current drivers license
- Motivation, self direction and willingness to learn
- Construction Induction Safety certificate
- A Clean Police Clearance
