The Opportunity

The Family Relationships Children's Contact Service (CCS) Worker is a permanent, part time role, (0.4FTE, 2 days per week which includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday depending on the roster) based across locations in the outer Southeast of Melbourne (Frankston and Pakenham). The Service provides trauma-informed, evidence-based support to separated families who are engaged in high-level conflict, to effectively manage their Court Ordered parenting arrangements and understand the impact of conflict on their children.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Support supervised visits and changeovers with children and their families.
  • Provide ongoing service provision with separated families in terms of their Court directed orders.
  • Ensure that the needs and safety of children and their families always takes priority.
  • Conduct on-going risk assessments and develop safety plans where appropriate.
  • Foster positive relationships with the children, families and relevant program stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional documentation and administrative systems according to program and legislative requirements, including CCS observational reports.

The CCS Worker delivers services to quality standards, complying with relevant legislation and contractual requirements. The CCS Worker remains abreast of professional trends and literature relevant to family transitions, and service intervention and support strategies.

They will meet KPIs for research, evaluation data and surveys. The CCS Worker will comply with the organisation's Program Planning and Evaluation Framework.

You are Bachelor qualified in Social Work, Family Therapy, Psychology or similar Human Services qualifications and are eligible for membership of AASW, AAFT, APS or PACFA member associations.

You have experience working effectively with parents and children in the areas of separation, family law, mental health, sexual abuse, alcohol and other drugs and family violence and have proven experience in undertaking assessments for parents and children who have experienced high levels of conflict.

You have experience supporting the developmental and therapeutic needs of children who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect and can respond to challenging behaviours, and understand the origins of these behaviours when working with children including trauma and attachment.

Essential to this role is your flexibility to work across our CCS service locations in, Frankston and Pakenham, and be available for regular weekend shifts as per the roster.
