Position Overview:

The Yard hand is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they are presented in the highest possible condition for customers. This includes both interior and exterior detailing, minor cosmetic touch-ups, and ensuring vehicles meet dealership presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cleaning of vehicle interiors including vacuuming, shampooing carpets, cleaning upholstery, wiping dashboards, vents, and other surfaces.
  • Wash, polish, and wax vehicle exteriors to restore shine and protect paintwork.
  • Remove dirt, tar, bugs, and other contaminants from vehicle surfaces.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and lights inside and out for maximum clarity and presentation.
  • Conduct minor cosmetic touch-ups, such as polishing scratches or removing stains.
  • Maintain detailing equipment, tools, and supplies in clean and working condition.
  • Ensure each vehicle meets dealership presentation standards before handover to customers.
  • Assist in vehicle inspections to identify any damages, scratches, or defects requiring attention.
  • Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report any mechanical issues, damage, or maintenance needs to management.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of detailing tools, cleaning chemicals, and safe usage practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle care and presentation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in car detailing, automotive cleaning, or similar role (preferred but not essential).
  • Current driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle maintenance (preferred).

  • Vehicle presentation quality.
  • Time efficiency per detail.
  • Customer satisfaction feedback.
  • Minimal rework required due to missed spots or damage.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
