About the Upholstery & Assembly Team
Our Upholstery Team is hands-on in bringing furniture to life. We cut, sew, glue, pull, staple, and fit components together to create lounges and chairs. You may do some or all of these steps, with jigs, tools, and standard processes to support you. Together, we craft high-quality, comfortable pieces that are built to last.
About the Role
We are looking for permanent ongoing full time Upholstery & Assembly Worker on the Day Shift. While experience in upholstery is preferred, if you are a skilled and capable worker with strong attention to detail who's looking for an opportunity to expand your skills, we would love to hear from you.
The role is based at our Minto site, reporting to the shift supervisor. Day Shift is 7am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday with weekend/overtime as required.
Key responsibilities
Tasks range from simple to complex, upholstering furniture such as chairs, sofas, and other seating with fabric, leather, or other materials.. This includes:
- Working with patterns used in furniture manufacturing, making, reading, and working off them.
- Assembling frames or carcasses.
- Attaching foam or other cushioning materials by gluing or stappling.
- Attaching fabric covers to the furniture using stapples or other methods.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing environment desirable
- Experience in upholstery desirable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow upholstery processes and meet production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality finishes on all products.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions, patterns, and standard processes.
- Able to work independently and use initiative when required.
