About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Tax Consultant to join our growing team. You'll play a critical role in qualifying leads, managing end-to-end R&D Tax Incentive claims, and delivering high-quality consulting support to our diverse client base – from start-ups to large enterprises.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Management

  • Conduct discovery meetings with potential clients to assess eligibility for the R&D Tax Incentive
  • Lead technical scoping of core and supporting activities
  • Manage application timelines and deliverables
  • Maintain strong, long-term client relationships

R&D Tax Incentive Preparation

  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation aligned with Australian Industry guidelines
  • Analyse financial data to complete ATO expenditure calculations and R&D Schedules
  • Ensure full substantiation and compliance across technical and financial components

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with the internal sales team to assess and qualify new leads
  • Provide training and internal support to help the team identify R&D opportunities
  • Collaborate with grant writers and advisors on additional government funding opportunities

Compliance & Reporting

  • Stay current with R&D tax policy changes and DISR/ATO portal updates
  • Manage administrative tasks including agreements, invoicing, and ongoing reporting

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years' experience preparing and submitting R&D Tax Incentive claims
  • Strong understanding of AusIndustry and ATO compliance requirements
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects independently
  • Collaborative and personable – comfortable working with internal teams and clients
  • Bonus: Experience with government grants, state-based funding programs, or innovation bodies
