The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented team member to join our surgical service as a sterlisation technician. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our theatres and sterilisation area, directly contributing to patient safety and surgical outcomes.

You'll be supported with structured training, competency frameworks, and access to both internal and external development opportunities, including Nurse CE allowance. Working alongside a collaborative team of nurses, technicians, and specialists, you'll gain the skills and experience to develop your career in a professional and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing all aspects of gear processing including cleaning, sterilisation, maintenance, and packing of surgical instruments
• Managing surgical inventory and implants, including ordering, stock rotation, and monitoring usage
• Ensuring efficient theatre turnaround and cleanliness between procedures
• Overseeing servicing and maintenance schedules for theatre equipment
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining sterilisation and infection control protocols
• Taking ownership of the sterilisation area to ensure seamless daily workflow
• Working closely with the surgery and nursing teams to support patient care

Requirements for application

• Previous experience not required — full training provided
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and hygiene standards
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• A veterinary or healthcare background is advantageous but not essential
