Can you bring engineering drawings to life with precision and skill machining? If so, we want you We are seeking to hire a CNC Machinist/ Programmer who can proficiently program and operate cutting-edge CNC machines in accordance with technical drawings, while maintaining our high-quality standards.

With our recent acquisition of Williamson Tool & Engineering, we aim to continue servicing customers across Australia through DCL's divisions – Engineering, Gearbox Repairs/AIMS- Asset Integrity & Maintenance Services / Mechanical Machinery Overhauls.

We have exciting opportunities at both our Chipping Norton & Fairfield East CNC Workshops.

About the role

  • Ability to interpret intricate drawings using leading software like AutoCAD, Solid Works and Mastercam
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings to manufacture components using your skills in Machining operations using, CNC Turning, Milling Machining, Horizontal Boring Machines
  • Set up and manage jobs efficiently, and adhering to production job schedules
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM programming whilst preparing for next jobs.
  • Strong QA skills in precision measuring tools - micrometres
  • Demonstrated ability to complete scheduled tasks in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.

Skills and experience

  • Relevant tradesman qualifications - Fitter & Turner or Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering and must have CNC Machining competencies.
  • Proven minimum of 5 years tradesman operating and programming CNC machinery.
  • Highly skilled at setting up, operating and machining large workpieces.
  • Experience in manual lathes, milling machinery, and CNC milling or CNC turning
  • Experience with operating CNC horizontal borers
  • Experienced with CNC milling using Heidenhein 530
  • Experienced with CNC turning with Fagor controls and/ or Fanuc controllers
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Uphold stringent WH&S protocols & adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Championing a culture of respect and professionalism among colleagues and clients
