Multiple opportunities exist for dedicated Clinical Nurses to join our High Dependency Unit at the Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital. Overview Of The Role
As a Clinical Nurse within our High Dependency Unit, you will play an essential role in providing advanced patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care delivery. You'll be the clinical expert guiding practice standards, coordinating unit operations, and leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of health care.

What We Are Looking For In The Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated advanced nursing practice and skills in the High Dependency Unit.
  • Experience in planning, coordination and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership qualities as a team member and mentor.
  • Knowledge of legislative obligations relating to Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety.
  • An interest in furthering your education, including progression towards a postgraduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing.

Key Responsibilities Of This Role Include

  • Planning and evaluating the delivery of patient care while ensuring high safety standards.
  • Act as a clinical expert, providing professional advice regarding clinical practice in collaboration with the nursing manager.
  • Coordinate the operational management of the unit on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement and research programs to elevate health care service.
  • Supervising and mentoring Registered and Enrolled Nurses, serving as a role model and advocate for best practices.This position is located in Kalgoorlie. Kalgoorlie is Australia's largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth.

Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent. The region supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism. Mining is the predominant sector in the central and northern parts of the region, with a well-established agricultural sector in the south.
