At Devonport Child Care Centres we take pride in putting families and children first. We are an inclusive Early Learning Service, with a motivated and inspired team of dedicated educators. Devonport Child Care Centres Inc. is a community based, not-for-profit organisation, providing education and care for children from birth to 12 years across two centre-based services and five outside school hours services.
An opportunity exists for an experienced, qualified educator to work as OSHC Educational Leader and 2IC at Devonport Child Care Centres Inc.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the OSHC Director as well as cover all OSHC Director leave. They will work well within a team and have the ability to build relationships with children, staff, parents, school staff and other stakeholders. Be able to identify and resolve issues effectively and motivate and guide the team of OSHC educators.
This role is full-time 38hrs per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the cycle of planning in OSHC
- Support and model critical reflection and educators ongoing learning.
- Implement engaging and educational programs and activities for children aged 5-12, including school holiday program excursions.
- Ensure each OSHC service adheres to relevant regulations, NQF standards and Devonport Child Care Centres Inc. policies and procedures.
- Assist with rostering and administrative tasks, including record keeping and reporting.
- Ensure safety compliance by assisting with safety checks, hazard identification and incident reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Early Childhood or working towards.
- A thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time, Our Place and relevant frameworks and legislation.
- Sound knowledge of child safeguarding and the national principles for child safe organisations.
- Sound knowledge of QIP and the Assessment and Rating process.

- Proven leadership experience with the ability to support professional growth and development.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative and policy framework.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven experience in using technology and relevant applications.
