Angela's is a popular local cafe in Huntingdale, Victoria. We are looking for a full-time Senior Pastry Cook to join a growing team.

Open 7 days a week, Angelas's specialises in Asian style Cakes and Cookies, express shipping cookies Australia wide.

As part of our senior management team, you will be responsible for daily operations in relation to pastry, which will include creating, preparing and curating our baked goods items. This is a unique opportunity to develop and prepare a broad range of classic cakes and desserts, as well as sweet and savory baked items across our dining, retail and home delivery operations

Responsibilities

  • Assist to manage, lead and support the pastry team through training, skill development, and effective roster management to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Oversee kitchen workflow to maintain consistent quality and timely output, while meeting production targets.

  • Collaborate on menu development by contributing ideas and assisting in the testing of new recipes and seasonal offerings.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure full compliance with food safety and occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Monitor and manage ingredient stock levels, placing orders as needed and implementing strategies to reduce waste and control our costs.

  • Work with café management to align pastry production with business goals, customer demand, and promotional activities

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1-2 years experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated experience in professional patisserie

  • Previous experience in team leadership and/or menu development will be highly regarded

  • Exceptional skill or niche expertise (e.g. custom cakes, patisserie artistry)

  • Diploma or Advanced diploma in Patisserie or Commercial Cookery, or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail, organization and leadership skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team unsupervised

  • Strong communication skills
