We are currently seeking a Cook who is a prep fanatic and loves all things prep and bulk commercial cooking. You'll bring your team spirit and enthusiastic nature to our on-site production kitchen in Cleveland that provides the convenience and pre-prepared meals and cookies to our independent group of IGA Supermarkets in the Redlands, Gold Coast, and Scenic Rim. Live the ultimate hospitality dream and work Monday to Friday full-time or optional part-time/25 hours per week also available.

The Role:

To be successful in this role; you will:

  • Assist with the day to day operations in the kitchen

  • Assemble and prepare ingredients in bulk for cooking or immediate packaging

  • Operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and efficiently

  • Follow recipes and presentation standards

  • Carry out safe and hygienic storage of food products

  • Be team-orientated and enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude

  • Have a strong commitment and respect for Work Health & Safety Policies & Procedures and Food Safety

  • Be friendly and professional with good communication skills

  • Display a high level of cleanliness and presentation

Skills the successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a fast-paced bulk production kitchen and a love for prep work

  • Enthusiastic, be willing to learn new food preparation techniques

  • Proactive attitude with the ability to react and adapt quickly

  • Food safety experience essential

  • Knife skills essential

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A genuine passion for food and cooking

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cooking or similar on the job experience

  • Ability to lead a team and a desire to manage a small team in the future

This is a part-time Monday-Friday role with minimum hours of 25/week, the ideal applicant should be able to work until 6pm daily.
