Rumbalara is seeking committed and culturally sensitive Vocationally Registered General Practitioners (VR GPs) to join our Health & Wellbeing team. Position Overview
Vocationally Registered (VR) General Practitioner
- Full Time – 38 hours per week and/or
- Part Time – 22.8 to 30.4 hours per week
- May include alternate Saturdays as part of a rotating roster

Key Responsibilities
The General Practitioner (GP) is responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally safe, and comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients within a community-controlled health service. This role may include alternate Saturdays as part of a rotating roster to supports access to primary care outside of standard hours, contributing to improved health outcomes and community wellbeing.
About You
Qualifications and Registrations:
Registered to practice in Victoria as medical practitioner with AHPRA (without limitations)
Knowledge and skills:
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Commitment to the principles of Aboriginal community-controlled health care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with patients and community
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range and conditions: $180p/h+ Saturday Penalty Rates (depending on qualifications and experience)
- Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
