Industry Beans Newstead is a premium restaurant and coffee roastery housed within an architecturally designed warehouse conversion. With a focus on fresh, seasonal produce and innovative cooking techniques, the menu at Newstead strikes a beautiful balance between café staples, signature dishes and high-quality share plates. Working from a spacious, state-of-the-art kitchen, our Kitchen team work together to produce exceptional food 7 days a week, as well as stand-up and sit-down functions.

About the role

Reporting to the Head Chef the Kitchen Hand is central to supporting the Chefs and the back of house operation. Working in service and completing prep and cleaning duties, the Kitchen Hand is key to delivering and maintaining a high standard and consistent quality of all menu items.

Hours Required:

Must be available to work 3 – 5 shifts per week – 15 – 25 hours – Wednesday – Sunday

Please do not apply if you require time off during December 2025 and January 2026

Roles and responsibilities:

Provide assistance to Chefs and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times

  • Assist the chefs with basic prep duties
  • Operate the industrial dishwasher
  • Wash and sort dishes when necessary
  • Closing and cleaning up duties
  • Follow sanitation policies at all times

You will be perfect for this role if you have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • A positive personality
  • The ability to work alongside a supporting BOH and FOH team
  • Great time management skills
  • Availability to work on both weekdays and weekends
