Solicitor/Lawyer (5+ PAE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor/Lawyer (5+ PAE) to join our dynamic team in Springwood, Queensland. As a Solicitor at Bridges, you will play a key role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients in family law matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements and domestic violence matters. You may also have the opportunity to expand your expertise in property law and wills and estates. This is a full-time opportunity for a driven and passionate legal professional to contribute to the continued success of our respected law firm.

What you'll be doing

• Advising clients on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, property settlements, parenting disputes, and more
• Conducting legal research, preparing briefs, and drafting court documents, affidavits and legal correspondence
• Representing clients negotiations with opposing parties and appearing before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Queensland Magistrates Court and other relevant jurisdictions
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Assisting in property law and wills and estate matters as required
• Providing compassionate and practical legal solutions tailored to client needs
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships to drive repeat business and referrals

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of post-admission experience (PAE) in a legal practice, with a strong background in family law
• A current Queensland Practicing Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Excellent legal research, written and verbal communication, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and provide sound, practical advice to clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively
• Demonstrated experience in court proceedings and client representation
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to contribute to the growth of the firm
• Australian work authorisation is required for this position
