Your RoleWe have a permanent, full-time Truck Driver role to fill; working with the Transport team based in Lavington. Travelling within the Lavington area on a regular basis, this is a busy role but fulfilling as this is not just about driving but also assisting people in the community. You will collect donations and deliver goods to Vinnies retail stores and to people we assist. Your efficient time management and great customer service skills are important to this role . You will be accountable for security, safety, maintenance, cleanliness and operations of vehicles and equipment; and for the safety of volunteers using vehicles and equipment at 321 Urana Road, Lavington. Licence required is MR or HR (Heavy Rigid).
Your Responsibility- Ensure timely collection of donations and delivery of goods/stock.
- Implement transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all WHS standards and procedures relevant to warehouse and transport areas.
- Ensure the security of Vinnies assets that include goods, equipment and vehicle.
- Follow standard reporting procedures in case of damages to vehicles
- Foster good working relationships and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Report change/s to your driver licence e.g. loss of licence; changes to your capacity (due to decline or impairment) to safely operate equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Professional empathy skills in working with donors and clients.
- Physical capacity to stand for long periods of time and lift goods safely.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce including employees and volunteers.
- MR or HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence.
