Hello. We're Virgin Australia. And we're back (in a big way).
We're the airline that's always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It's about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.
Love problem solving and puzzles? Good with decision making and applying process and policy? Keen for a role where no two days are the same and you are always learning something new?
We need resilient, driven, reliable, independent and passionate people to join the Virgin Australia Network Control team. It's a challenging role with a lot of responsibilities in a fast-paced operational environment. Network Controllers keep all the cogs turning to ensure we maintain and deliver a safe and on time flight schedule by working hand in hand with multiple teams in the Integrated Operations Centre and frontline operational teams across the network.

- Effectively and professionally communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels, including executive and senior leadership teams.??
- Make strategic, well planned and fact-based decisions under pressure.
- Execute adequate and appropriate response to OTP threats.
- Operate various operations?and?communication specific systems and associated?processes.??
- Coordinate responses to medical/ other emergencies, operational issues, schedule disruptions and disruption recovery.??
- Ensure the best commercial and operational results are achieved with a critical focus on safety and ultimate customer experience outcomes.
Please note: This is a 12-month maximum term contract
What you need to be successful:
- Be a self-starter.
- Understanding of centralised control systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of airline operations or similar operations control experience.
- Ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
- Comfortable and confident in a collaborative, fast paced team environment.
- Strong social skills encompassing the ability to manage relationships, communicate effectively, and inspire and influence others.
- Exceptional communication, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Can work a 24/7 rotating shift roster (including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and public holidays)
- Legally able to live and work in Australia.
What you'll get from us:
Our people make Virgin Australia what it is. They're the legends at Virgin HQ, the warm welcome at check in, the bright sparks who light up our aircraft cabins, and the cheeky grinning faces having a ball on the tarmac. In other words, the living embodiment of Virgin's fun laid back, authentic spirit.
