With the continued growth of our business, Vishwa Farms is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for a full-time Primary Products Inspector position.
About Us:
Vishwa farms is dedicated to producing high-quality broccoli in the farm. The annual produce of Broccoli is set reach at 100 tonnes this year. In addition to producing Broccoli, we also have garlic in the ground, Japanese and Kent pumpkins, and have recently harvested zucchini. We strive to maintain excellence throughout our production process, ensuring that our customers receive fresh, top-grade produce.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Primary Products Inspector to ensure the quality of our produce. The inspector will be responsible for evaluating our crops, overseeing quality control processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine the food produce to assess quality, identify issues, and ensure they meet set standards.
- Supervise quality control practices at our processing plant, storage areas, and packing facilities to guarantee compliance with established guidelines.
- Collect and analyse samples of produce to evaluate factors such as quality, size, and purity.
- Assess and document the size, extent of defects, colour, firmness, maturity, and shape of the produce.
- Ensure hygiene protocols are strictly followed across storage, processing, and transportation operations.
- Oversee the packaging and loading processes, ensuring they are performed to standard and on schedule.
- Implement and manage quarantine procedures when necessary to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Track inventory levels of the inspected produce and collaborate with logistics to manage stock effectively.
- Inspect and ensure that all equipment used in processing, storage, and transportation is functioning correctly and safely.
- Address and discuss any product-related complaints with management and help develop solutions.
- Coordinate with the farm manager to ensure that the correct quantity and quality of produce is delivered to buyers.
- Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes and work with management to implement enhancements.
- Communicate directly with buyers to understand their quality requirements and ensure their specifications are met.
- Provide training to workers on quality standards, handling practices, and safety procedures to maintain consistency in production quality.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure the farm remains compliant and competitive.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in agricultural inspection or a related field is must.
- Familiarity with quality standards for vegetables such as broccoli, garlic, pumpkin, and zucchini.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address issues quickly.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and management.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an asset.
