Harmor Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Transport Manager to oversee the daily operation, scheduling, and performance of our modern fleet of Vac Trucks, including Light Rigids, Heavy Rigids and Semi's across multiple sites.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Transport Manager will manage the allocation and utilisation of Harmor's liquid waste collection fleet while ensuring full compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and heavy-vehicle regulations. You'll work closely with the Operations Team to deliver safe, on-time, and cost-effective services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily job requirements.

• Lead, coach and supervise a team of 15+ drivers, maintaining safety and morale.

• Monitor fleet utilisation, efficiency, fuel usage and maintenance schedules.

• Ensure compliance with NHVR, Chain of Responsibility and relevant road laws.

• Coordinate preventative maintenance and vehicle servicing with yard manager.

• Liaise with customers, sales and service teams to ensure high service standards.

• Analyse fleet data to identify performance and cost-saving opportunities.

• Support sustainability initiatives and the adoption of fleet management technology.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience as a Fleet Controller, Transport Allocator, or Logistics Coordinator.

• Proven ability to manage driver teams and complex daily scheduling.

• Strong understanding of liquid waste collection operations and heavy vehicle compliance.

• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in fleet management or scheduling systems (Field Insight an advantage) and Microsoft Office.

• Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
