Senior FP&A Analyst

This is a key role in the Performance Reporting Team to:

1. Provide AFG performance reporting and MI (including month end financials for Executive Committee) and
2. Support delivery of the budget and forecasting process for AFG.

This role will put a strong commercial lens on the business focusing on key business drivers, business risks & opportunities and translating financials into actionable insights to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Reporting:

• Month end reporting - AFG results (actual vs budget), preparation of monthly CFO Board Report and Exco Finance Update Report.
• Provision of high quality, commercial MI with a focus on business drivers, trends, risks & opportunities to provide executive with actionable insights to drive the business.
• Clear articulation of business performance.
• Peer comparison reporting - use industry benchmarks and trends to analyse business performance and identify opportunities.
• Recommend & deliver improvement to internal reports and processes.

Budget and Forecast:

• Collaborating with the business to develop a strong understanding of the business drivers to ensure accurate forecasts and reporting.
• Support preparation of the AFG budget and forecast process.
• Streamline and update budget models where relevant.
• Support the development of quarterly forecasting process.
• Cash forecasting improvements to ensure AFSL requirements are met.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce, economics or mathematics.
• 3 years of experience in a similar FP&A role.
• Knowledge of the Financial Services industry (preferred).
• Systems – EPM & Oracle (preferred).
• Strong business acumen and a positive results-oriented attitude.
• Excellent oral and written presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships.
• Business Partnering Skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence diverse stakeholder groups to achieve desired outcomes.
• Advanced Excel / modelling skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
