As a Research Assistant with the Melbourne Data Analytics Platform, you'll contribute to the Community Data Lab Enhanced Analytics project. You will work on interdisciplinary projects, advancing digital humanities by working with a team to develop tools to search historical textual corpora , using computational methods. This role offers you the chance to collaborate with researchers, enhance your skills, and contribute to the understanding of cultural phenomena.
Your responsibilities will include:
Data Collection and Management: Gather, clean, and organise large datasets from humanities sources , ensuring data integrity.
Digital Tools and Methods: Assist in applying digital tools for textual corpora analysis and support computational research methods.
Project Management: Coordinate project timelines, liaise with stakeholders, and maintain project resources and documentation.
Collaboration and Communication: Work in interdisciplinary teams, develop user guides, and present findings to diverse audiences.
You may be a great fit if:
You will have an Honours or Masters degree in humanities or social sciences, with a keen interest in digital technologies and interdisciplinary research, possessing strong organisational and communication skills , with attention to detail .
You may also:
Be proficient in research data management and analysis tools.
Have knowledge of programming languages like Python or a willingness to learn coding skills.
Demonstrate excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research and learning new methodologies.
