Science Technician

Full Time Term Time 40-week contract

We are seeking a Science Technician for a full-time 40-week term time contract.

The successful applicant will be committed to assisting the Science Department with the organisation and effective running of the classroom, with preparation of class experiments and the prep work of the science department in a culture of excellence, innovation, and opportunity at St. Brigid's College.

Selection Criteria

· A clear commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.

· Ability to assist with the preparation of science lessons for secondary school students.

· Ability to liaise with teachers about the technical side of the curriculum and the safety risks associated with it.

· Ensuring that all staff and students follow safe work practices and contribute to the smooth running of the practical science activities.

· Minimum requirement of qualifications is Cert 4 in Laboratory Techniques or higher

· A Chemical Safety Certification or willingness to obtain such a qualification.

· Excellent planning and thinking skills that engage students in a modern learning environment.

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

· Current Working with Children Card and a Department of Education Police check
