About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our Sustaining Capital Mining team, focusing on rail infrastructure upgrades and maintenance. This role involves working on a large-scale rail network renewal program, contributing to feasibility studies, design development, and site execution support.
You'll be part of a collaborative team of 9 Civil Designers/Drafters, reporting directly to the Design Drafting Manager. The team culture includes a daily coffee run to keep the vibes positive and connected.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce civil design work for rail infrastructure, including earthworks and drainage.
- Utilize Microstation and 12D software for design and drafting.
- Support engineering teams in feasibility and execution phases of infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design outcomes.
- Participate in team activities to foster a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in civil design.
- Proficiency in Microstation and 12D is essential.
- Knowledge of heavy haul rail design principles, earthworks, and drainage is highly beneficial.
- Experience in rail, mining, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Project Overview
The rail network renewal program involves major upgrades and maintenance across a vast rail infrastructure. The scope includes fixed asset renewals, ballast cleaning, tamping, and minor track upgrades. The work is driven by rolling engineering campaigns and calendar year execution plans.
