As a result of solid growth in our business, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Draftsperson to join our residential drafting team.

The Role

You will be responsible for drawing and detailing a wide variety and complex range of single and two storey high end homes, as well as unique and innovative display homes. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the quality of drawings produced by the drafting department, and mentoring drafting staff. Key functions in your role will include:

• Design and preparation of high-level working drawings with strong attention to detail

• Checking drawings for quality and compliance prior to their release from the Drafting Department

• Mentoring and developing drafting staff

• Proactively communicating with stakeholders, consultants, and internal team members to ensure timely production of working drawings

• Ordering & monitoring progress of external consultant's details/drawings

• Checking working drawings for accuracy

• Keeping drawings up to date to ensure a smooth building construction process

Ideally, as the successful candidate you will have:

• Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting (equivalent or higher education)

• 5 years of experience in residential drafting relevant to local building methods/practices

• Experience with checking and approving drawings prior to release

• Experience in supervising and mentoring staff

• Proficiency in the use of ArchiCAD 22 or later

• Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Residential Design Codes & other relevant Standards

• High level knowledge of residential construction in two storey & single storey Primarily for traditional & framed construction, but alternative construction methods would be advantageous

• Demonstrated high levels of presentation and clarity on all drawings with strong attention to detail.

• Experience with Twinmotion 3D rendering software will be highly regarded

• Ability to work in a team to help form a positive, strong & vibrant environment

• Demonstrated strong work ethic with ownership of your drawings
