Role Overview

The Solution Architect for SCN (Warehouse) will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that enable efficient warehouse operations within Coles' Supply Chain Network. This role ensures alignment with enterprise architecture standards, business objectives, and future scalability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Architecture
  • Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures for warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and integration with upstream/downstream systems.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to Coles' enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Create architecture diagrams, data flow models, and integration patterns for SCN applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to translate functional requirements into technical designs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for warehouse technology initiatives, providing guidance on best practices and emerging trends.
  • Integration & Technology Enablement
  • Design integration between WMS, ERP, transport management systems (TMS), and automation platforms.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity with IoT devices, robotics, and real-time inventory tracking systems.
  • Governance & Quality
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide assurance during solution delivery.
  • Maintain documentation for architecture decisions and ensure traceability.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate new technologies (e.g., AI-driven warehouse optimization, cloud-native solutions) for applicability in Coles' SCN landscape.
  • Drive automation and efficiency improvements across warehouse operations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience in designing solutions for Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., Manhattan, SAP EWM, Blue Yonder).
  • Knowledge of integration technologies (APIs, middleware, ESB) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with automation technologies (AMRs, conveyors, sortation systems) and IoT.
  • Architecture & Design
  • Proficiency in TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks.
  • Ability to create detailed architecture artifacts (HLD, LLD, sequence diagrams).
  • Domain Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of supply chain processes, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
  • Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
