We are seeking an experienced and proactive HSEQ Advisor to support our growing team and maintain our commitment to safety, quality, and environmental excellence.
Role Overview
The HSEQ Advisor will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality systems in line with company policies, client requirements, and legislative standards.
This hands-on role will suit someone comfortable working in both the workshop and site environments, supporting a small, close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continually improve the company's HSEQ Management System.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
- Provide HSEQ advice, coaching, and support to supervisors and trades personnel.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) and relevant regulations.
- Monitor and maintain records for safety, environmental, and quality performance.
- Coordinate internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 if applicable).
- Support management in developing and implementing HSEQ improvement initiatives.
- Assist with pre-qualification, tender, and client compliance documentation.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HSEQ role, preferably within fabrication, construction, or mining sectors.
- Strong knowledge of WA WHS legislation and standards.
- Proven ability to engage with teams and promote a positive safety culture.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO accreditation systems.
- Environmental and/or Quality auditing qualifications.
- Familiarity with client HSEQ systems (Rio Tinto, BHP, FMG, etc.).
- Previous experience in a small business or workshop-based environment.
