About the Role
As a Pharmacist at Blooms The Chemist, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding healthcare services and ensuring the safe, effective dispensing of medications. You'll work closely with customers, healthcare professionals, and a supportive pharmacy team to provide professional advice, clinical services, and personalised care that reflect the Blooms The Chemist values.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Supply
- Accurately dispense prescription medications in line with PBS and Pharmacy Board of Australia requirements.
- Conduct final checks to ensure prescriptions are safe, appropriate, and compliant.
- Manage controlled substances according to legislation and company policy.
Customer Care & Health Services
- Provide professional advice on prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medicines.
- Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects Blooms' patient-first philosophy.
- Offer professional health advice and support for common conditions and medication use.
Clinical & Professional Services
- Administer vaccinations and provide other pharmacist-delivered health services.
- Conduct MedsChecks, Diabetes MedsChecks, UTI consults and other professional programs.
- Support chronic disease management and medication adherence initiatives.
- Participate in health promotion campaigns and community health programs.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Support and mentor pharmacy assistants and dispensary technicians.
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented workplace culture aligned with Blooms' core values.
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure full compliance with all legal, ethical, and professional requirements.
- Maintain accurate and secure patient and medication records.
- Contribute to inventory control, ordering, and stock management.
- Stay up-to-date with current pharmacy practice and ongoing professional development.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA.
- Current Pharmacist Immuniser certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Sound knowledge of PBS processes and pharmacy legislation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a community pharmacy environment.
- Interest in health promotion and community engagement.
- A proactive, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude.
