Centenary Childcare & Early Education Centre is a Centre rated with an EXCEEDING Rating that is a family-owned service who appreciates their staff for the amazing job that they do. We are located in Mt Ommaney which is in the Western suburbs of Brisbane.

We are looking for an excellent, dedicated and professional Early Childhood Educator who is motivated, passionate & enthusiastic about children.

If you have a genuine love of children and can demonstrate a history with them, you may be just the person we are looking for. Childcare is a very rewarding occupation, but it requires a certain degree of commitment, so you will need to have an excellent work ethic, an organised nature and be extraordinary. Details of our Schoolies position:

  • POSITION: - is a full-time (38hrs every week - NOT a split shift) permanent Educator position in our Schoolies room years).
  • It is essential for the applicant to have a Diploma in childcare or above (or working towards it).
  • You will need to hold an open driver's license and are willing & able to drive our children to and from school in a 10-seater bus (normal car license only required). For bus insurance would prefer applicants to be over 25 years old.
  • Must hold a current BlueCard and First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Be experienced, passionate and prepared to excel with our school age children.
  • Have a solid understanding of NQF, My Time, Our Place &, EYLF.
  • Is knowledgeable about the Emergent Curriculum
  • The Centre has plentiful resources & equipment
  • Fully air conditioned, separate & spacious classroom.

  • This position currently has 2 weekly rotating shifts & pm.
  • During the day whilst the children attend school, you will cover programming & lunch cover in the younger age groups.

We are also always seeking casual relief staff who are able to be on call to cover in all ages when/if our permanent staff are ill or needing time off.

Details of the Casual Relief

  • This is a casual position, and you could get offered various amounts of hours per week from 0 - 40hours.
  • You would need to be prepared to be on call and work flexible hours
  • Our Centre is open 6.30am until 6.30pm and we currently have 41 staff that may need time off for illness and holidays.

Please note a 6-month probationary period will apply. the successful applicant will be required to obtain a "suitability card" if they do not already have one. This will be renewed by the Centre after a min of 12 months of employment with the Centre

Further note:Consideration will only be given to applicants who are currently permanent residents of Australia and have a good command of the English language. Travel time will be considered when appointing the successful applicant.
