Turning Complex Work into Clear, Practical Guidance
At Horizon Power, we don't just power towns — we power possibilities.
As we deliver energy solutions across the largest geographical area of any Australian power provider, we listen to and work with our communities, our customers and our team. That's where you come in. Help us shape and deliver a modern approach to our work procedures and processes to drive safe, productive work.
Why You'll Love This Role
As our Work Procedures Lead, you'll shape and deliver a fresh approach to how we design and use work procedures.
You'll lead a small team of specialists and make sure every procedure, manual, and guide are technically accurate, easy to use and engaging, with a focus on safety and productivity.
You'll work closely with subject matter experts, frontline teams, and leaders across Horizon Power. Together, you'll create procedures that cover our networks, generation assets, and even new technologies.
From integrating procedures into our Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) system, to managing our contract authorisation process — you'll play a big part in setting our people up for success.
What You'll Be Doing
• Adopt a contemporary approach to develop and present work procedures in a way that is engaging and ensures focus on key activities and risks.
• Translate complex technical info into clear, user-friendly content.
• Collaborate with SMEs and the workforce to reflect industry best practice.
• Manage and maintain a suite of work procedures, manuals and guidance addressing trades and technical work that is delivered on Horizon Power's electricity network and generation assets.
• Manage Horizon Power's contract authorisation process.
What You'll Bring
• Strong industry experience and existing knowledge of electricity generation and networks work practices.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable content for diverse audiences.
• Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple writing projects simultaneously.
• Significant experience in work procedures, technical writing and assurance.
• A collaborative style that makes complex ideas easy to understand.
• Certificate IV in training and assessment and/or tertiary qualification in work health and safety would be highly regarded.
