Senior Town Planner

In this role, you must be capable of assessing sites for best use for subdivision and development, demonstrating the use of AutoCAD & Revit during the site evaluation stage is desirable but not required.

Primarily project focus in the company is on Residential Multi residential developments with some child care developments, you will be required to have solid communication skills to liaise with council, clients and other stakeholders. The role also entails preparation of Planning Reports, working with the designer in the team to address RFI's, review and address Condition 1 Plans, Secondary Consent amendments and potentially other similar tasks. Meeting deadlines to facilitate property acquisition is critical, so the ability to perform swiftly is essential.

You must have formal Planning qualifications required, with a minimum 2~ 5 years' experience in Victoria

Role description

· Undertake site evaluations for residential and commercial developments, e.g. townhouses, child care centres

· Researching policy applicable to the site

· Liaising with council

· Carrying out Dial Before You Dig and obtaining further asset plans if required

· Risk management during initial investigations to minimise negative planning outcomes

· Will be required to use Landchecker and or Nearmap during site investigation process, as a tool to assist with the site assessment

· Autocad basic knowledge preferred

· Provide planning advice to Project Designers and Managers throughout Design Development process, with further Council input.

· Attend pre-application meetings

· Attend internal meetings

· Attend meeting with clients, if applicable

· Critically assess drawings and answer questions from Project Designers

· Risk management during early stages of design to minimise negative planning outcomes

· Coordinate Town Planning Applications

· Write reports and letters

· Collect required information for Applications

· Coordinate supporting documentation from consultants, including requesting fee proposals

· Check drawings and consultant documentation

· Associated administrative work to put application packages together

· Facilitate optimal outcomes during the Town Planning process

· Respond to RFIs, coordinating with consultants and Project Designers if required

· Respond to objections

· Attend consultation meetings with objectors if required

· Negotiate with council and/or objectors

· Attend and present at council Development Assessment Panels

· Check drawings for endorsement

·

· Assist with VCAT cases

· Communicate with legal representatives and expert witnesses

· Oversee preparation of Amended Plans

· Attend and where applicable, contribute to Compulsory Conferences

· Attend and where applicable, contribute to VCAT Hearings
