  • Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Full-Stack Engineer to design, build, and deliver a secure end-to-end data integration and search solution. This is a hands-on role spanning data pipelines, backend APIs, frontend development, and cloud infrastructure.

You will be responsible for moving data from a legacy on-premises system into Azure, implementing role-based security, and enabling search-driven access through a modern web application. The role is ideal for someone who has previously delivered cloud-based data projects independently or as a lead engineer and is confident working across the full stack.

Key Deliverables

Data Integration

  • Build ingestion pipelines with Azure Data Factory (or Synapse) into Azure SQL.
  • Implement delta load patterns without primary keys (hashing, business keys, surrogate keys, staging/upserts).

Database Layer

  • Design Azure SQL schema optimised for search and reporting.
  • Apply Row-Level Security (RLS) for per-user/per-role access.
  • Performance tuning (indexing, partitioning, query optimisation).

API & Security

  • Develop secure RESTful APIs (.NET preferred, or Python acceptable).
  • Integrate APIs with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for authentication and authorization.
  • Enforce claims-based security trimming in APIs and database queries.

Search Application

  • Build a secure, user-friendly frontend (React/Angular) for authenticated search.
  • Integrate Azure Cognitive Search (or database full-text search) with filters, facets, and pagination.

DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or Terraform.
  • CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Monitoring and logging with Application Insights and Log Analytics.
  • Secure key and secret management using Azure Key Vault.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record delivering Azure-based data integration projects.
  • Strong knowledge of delta load strategies without source primary keys.
  • Deep SQL expertise, including performance tuning and RLS.
  • Solid backend API development with Entra ID authentication.
  • Hands-on frontend experience with React or Angular for secure search-driven UIs.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cognitive Search (or equivalent).
  • Strong grounding in security, compliance, and cloud best practices.
