Perth, Western Australia Qoria Full time

Do you want to design and build robust test automation solutions that ensure the integrity and protection of millions of children online?

At Qoria, we have a simple but profound purpose: to keep every child safe and thriving in their digital life. We build the technology that over 32,000 schools and 8 million parents use to protect more than 27 million children from online risks. This isn't just another QA role; it's a mission to embed quality at every stage.

We are seeking a highly skilled
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

to take a hands-on technical specialist role within our Shared Services platform team. You will be crafting the automation frameworks and tests that validate the services that enable authentication, authorisation, telemetry, provisioning and more.

What's the opportunity?

This is a deeply technical, hands-on role where you will be responsible for
developing significant test automation systems and owning the quality strategy
for our shared services. You will be a key player in a major effort to unify our systems, tackling complex quality challenges in performance, resiliency, and security by building scalable and reliable test infrastructure. You will work with a team of motivated and curious engineers who are passionate about solving problems that truly matter.

Your Impact: What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Test Automation Development:
Design and build our critical, high-performance
automated test frameworks and test suites
using Playwright (Typescript), Go and .Net.
  • Deep Dive into Quality:
Understand and validate the behavior of our shared services, ensuring their resilience, efficiency, and security through comprehensive automation.
  • Own Quality End-to-End:
Embody our principle of "Code it; Ship it; Own it." You will be responsible for
defining and implementing the automated validation
that ensures your team's work (and the product) is something we are all proud of.
  • Support Quality Strategy:
Play a pivotal role in the
    test automation and quality unification
of our services, collaborating across teams to build a cohesive, scalable, and highly reliable platform. Contribute to the strategic planning of testing efforts, applying risk-based analysis to prioritise automation and reduce manual testing.
  • Mentor and Grow:
As an SDET, you are expected to have a positive influence on your team members, in quality engineering best practices.
  • Closer Collaboration with Development Teams:
Partner closely with development teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC, influencing testability, unit testing practices, and facilitating rapid feedback loops.
  • Debugging and Root Cause Analysis
: Perform in-depth debugging and root cause analysis for identified defects, collaborating with developers to accelerate resolution.

What You Will Bring

  • 3-5 years hands-on experience
with programming languages used for automated testing, such as Playwright (Typescript), Go or .Net.
  • A
    strong mindset for test automation
, with the ability to design everything from low-level component tests to end-to-end system validation frameworks.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining
    robust automated test frameworks
integrated with the teams CI/CD pipelines.
  • A technology-agnostic approach and the ability to pick up new languages and frameworks to get the job done right.
  • An inquisitive, collaborative, and proactive nature, always looking for opportunities to learn and improve quality outcomes.
  • Bonus Points:
Experience with specialised testing areas such as performance testing, security testing, device compatibility testing, accessibility or i18n testing approaches.

Why Choose Qoria?

  • Tech with Purpose:
Your work here truly matters. Your skills will directly contribute to protecting children from cyberbullying, harmful content, and other online dangers. It feels good to do good.
  • Solve Globally-Scaled Puzzles:
You'll tackle fascinating technology challenges for a global customer base, working on a platform that is predominantly cloud-based across GCP and Azure. We are not bound by "how it's always been done"; if a technology provides greater stability, security, or customer value, we will explore it.
  • A Culture of Ownership & Teamwork:
We believe individuals win games, but teamwork wins leagues. Our culture is built on our core values: 'Care always', 'Learn, Solve, Repeat', and 'Win Together'. We empower our teams with autonomy and trust, supporting you to do your best work without micromanagement.
  • A Career You Own:
We are committed to your growth. Qoria is a significant local employer, with 90 of our 600+ global team based right here in our home state of Western Australia. We offer defined career pathways on either technical or management tracks, support for attending conferences, and a fast-paced, supportive learning environment.
  • The Benefits:
In addition to doing work you can be proud of, you can expect a competitive salary including company shares, flexible working options, and a fantastic office space in Perth.

Ready to build the automation that protects millions of children while solving some of the most interesting technical challenges in endpoint security and quality assurance? We'd love to discuss how your expertise can drive our mission forward.

At this stage we are only accepting application from those with full working rights in Australia.

Shortlisting will commence immediately.
