In this role, you'll:
Join our Fleet Maintenance team within Engineering & Maintenance at Sydney Trains and contribute to the delivery of testing and commissioning activities for the Tangara Fleet Life Extension (TFLE) project, one of Sydney Trains' most significant rolling stock upgrade programs.
This role will see you conduct fault finding, verification and validation testing. You'll interpret schematics, execute test instructions, and prepare technical documentation including test results and reports.
You will lead testing activities, solve complex technical issues, and build efficiencies in a dynamic environment.
This is a fixed term role until 28 June 2028, based at our Flemington Maintenance Centre. This is a shift-based position supporting 24/7 operations, flexibility to work on a rotating roster is required. The salary is RC5 ($124,242 - $143,310) + super + shift penalties. About you
You hold a four-year Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering) or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised institution.
You have demonstrated experience in testing and commissioning of rolling stock preferably in rail or similar environments such as defence, aviation or mining where you've developed safety-critical, systems-level testing experience.
You'll bring a proactive approach to problem solving and you're recognised as resourceful engineer, able to interpret schematics, execute test instructions, and navigate bespoke OEM systems. Experienced in rolling stock testing and commissioning, you understand the importance of safety, precision, and teamwork in delivering successful outcomes.
